Longer bio

Pedro Lopez is a founder and business builder based in London. In 2026 he co-founded Hailo-Ops, an operations consultancy for UK businesses that starts with the operation, not the tool: find the one constraint holding the business back, then fix it for good.

He started as a data analyst at AB InBev in the Dominican Republic and left as commercial planning and performance manager, leading a team of 16. In 2017 he moved to London for an MSc in Data Science at Goldsmiths, University of London, then worked at ForceDecks, Reed.co.uk, Babylon and eMed, and led data analytics for Ocado Technology’s operations.

He co-founded AISYNG, an AI start-up for operations teams, and exhibited with it in the ALPHA programme at Web Summit Lisbon 2025. He has also started Algodon, a wardrobe app, and Hungry Dinosaur, sing-along songs and stories for small children.

Speaking topics

  1. Find the one constraint, then fix it for good

Why most operations have one real bottleneck, how to find it, and how to remove it so it stays gone.

  2. Make technology earn its place

Understanding the business before choosing a tool, and how to tell when software is the answer and when it isn’t.

  3. AI products fail on the operation, not the model

What co-founding an AI start-up taught me: the hard part is the operating problem the product sits in.

  4. Discipline beats the meeting

Small, fixed routines, like an end-of-month recap, that keep a team honest without another meeting.

  5. Control the downside, then go full speed

Fallbacks, audit trails and cross-trained teams: the groundwork that lets a business move fast safely.
