Don’t invent a market: pick one that already makes money (competitors with traction), study what users of the leaders dislike or lack, and win with one clear difference (features, price, niche, simplicity, marketing).
Components
- Find a validated market with paying customers (marketplaces, Stripe screenshots, Ahrefs traffic)
- Use/study the competitors and mine their reviews and ‘X alternative’ searches
- Find a gap: niche, price, simplicity, features, approach or distribution
- Build a small MVP that is noticeably better on that one axis
- Out-market or out-execute; keep going
